From Idea to Action

This is for young people with an idea — and for the parents who want to nudge them to start.

As my boys grow older, I keep coming back to the same thought: the next generation of founders need a room that takes them seriously.

That’s what Launchpad League is — a youth founder programme where teens spend a season building a real venture, mentored by practicing Southeast Asian founders, and finish by pitching to a room of them.

Not a summer camp. Not a worksheet. A real arc, with a real outcome.

And I couldn’t think of a better way to open the door than this:

From Idea to Action — Sat, 3 Oct, 2–4pm, at The Nanson, InterContinental Robertson Quay.

I’ll be sitting down with Lara Manchharam, who launched Avesta Equestrian at 15 — Singapore’s first equestrian apparel brand — while representing the country in her sport and, you know, finishing school.

Now 16, and one year in, she’s going to talk honestly about what building actually looked like: the first products, the first customers, the setbacks, the learning-as-you-go.
